M mixsit Well-known member Jan 2, 2004 #2 On Mackie for one, it's after the eq and fader. 'Insert' out gets you out just after the trim and pre, before all that other stuff. The Block diagram is your friend! Wayne

S starch New member Jan 3, 2004 #3 Mixsit is right, you have to check the block diagram or your manual should tell you. Many mixers are different and direct outs, aux sends, inserts etc. can be sent at different points in the signal path.
