how can we record better piano with digital one?

i read that for real piano they use 8mics
and i wonder whether i can simulate this with my qs8?
other than plug it directly into audiocard

8 mics??? At most, I would only use 2 well-placed close ones, and possibly a couple of room mics for color (if it was in a good sounding room).......

I'm not sure though, exactly what it is you're asking......

you can try recording your digital piano into wavs then use plugins like Cakewalk soundstage to similate placement of mics.

I've done a few digital piano recordings with this method, and while it's not the best the results are pretty good.
