i need to take my songs from cubase to cake walk and pro tools and i need to know, is there an easier way to do this other than mixing down each track into it's own wave file?

can i make the waves stored in the pool reflect what's on the tracks in cubase and just burn the pool to disk and import the tracks into cakewalk or protools?

i tried your advice but i can't open the omf file up in cakewalk or protools. i'm looking for a way to export all of the individual tracks to a folder with just one render, instead of rendering track by track. it get's kind of tiring when working with many many tracks.

By choosing "save project to new folder" it saves all of the used files in a new folder for your project. The problem is that if you just try opening it in another program without some sort of header file, it won't know where to time align all of your edits etc... not to mention plugins. OMF is supposed to be the wrokaround for this. I know of people using OMF succesfully, but have never tried it myself.

thanks xstatic

that gives me an idea, i can draw inbetween tracks and glue everything that's on a track so that it all starts at the beginning of the song. any gaps will be filled in and there will be no sound.

i'll give it a try. when i did the omf save, the file had that funny looking icon as if windows didn't recognize it or if i didn't have a program to open it up with.
