How can I make this sound better

Hi mixed and tried a simple mastering chain.

Is this really terrible? is it near being right?

The whole mix sounds really buried. Like I'm listening to it through a wall.
Sounds like it was recorded in a garage. I doubt that there is much you can do to save the really distant sounds.
It's hard to really say much besides that.

The playing sounds tight.

It sounds like it's ripping off "Sin In My Heart" by Siouxsie and the Banshees. I'm sure it's a coincidence.
