mxl 990
cad 2400

are these ok i bought them im just geting into recording with pro tools!!!!

never heard of the CAD
don't care for the Marshall
what kind of pre are you running?

The CAD sounds not bad...perhaps a bit overly dark and a slightly higher noise floor than others in the crowded <100 mic category. I personally sounded surprisingly good on it for doing VO work. I was thinking of getting one, til I came across a nice deal on a marshall V67B, which made me sound better. :)

People tend to bag on the 990, while others say it's very usable. I'm reminded of an issue of electronic musician where the 990 gets a sidebar, where the authors extols its use on guitar amp.

Use the search on the 990...you'll get plenty of comments.

thanks savoy

I will pass on that compliment to the artist. I don't use cad mics...so I can't comment on them (although I almost bought one). Hopefully...a user with some cad mics will reply and maybe post a sample...i'm also interested in hearing their quality.

Same here... I've never heard the CAD 2400 and I don't care for the MXL990 either.
