I am thinking about doing the big upgrade, but teh main thing I want more control of is editing within Sonar. With 2.2 I find it really hard to do the close in depth editing I want to do.

Is the editing abilities in 3 better?

I know Sonar isn't Pro Tools, but I like the editing that PT allows you to do.

It does anything ProTools will do, and sometimes better.
I think slip-editing improved some as it seems to me that it always edits to a zero crossing and doesnt pop as much as it would before.
Add in plug in delay compensation, and a mix buss that sounds as good or better, and the fact that you dont need $8000 in hardware to get rolling, and better midi, and I think Sonar kicks ProTools ass. YOu can edit on the fly too, if you are fast enough. Its almost like a contest to me now, trying to edit shit before it jumps to the next screen. Gets your chops up, though, thats for sure.
I like it better. But thats just me.

The editting metaphor has not changed between Sonar 2.xx and 3.0.

You still need to zoom WAAAAY in to edit the waveform level.
