Some Rikenbacker basses came with stereo out for a while. I THINK it split the strings but can't recall - I did play one that was stereo once in the early 80's but can't recall - may nave been a mod.

maybe you could get some of the chime back on the 12 (I used a fanged pick - works for me!).

. Top notch performance on everything else too. However, I cringed a bit when the guitar started, it blended in later on and I forgot about it. It sounded cheap. I've never home-recorded a 12-string before, so I'd seek others' advice here on the board. Drums might need a bump too - almost never hurts
