hi there,
i just purchaced a v-amp pro. i noticed it had a s/pdif out, so i got the right cable for the job (what the man in the shop said was the right cable for the job), so i could hook it up with my delta 1010lt. i connect the out on the v-amp pro to the in on the card, and the status in the m-audio toolbar says there is an invalid or no signal present.

for the spdif settings on the v-amp pro, you can have 44.1kHz, 96kHz, or External clock. would i have it on the external setting when hooked up to my 1010lt, and would i need a wordclock cable to have them syncronized? feedback to get me along the right lines would be great! thanks alot.

Steve

oh and PS, if i do need to hook them up with the wordclock, what sort of cable would i need to use? thanks!

You set the V-Amp to whatever sample rate you're recording your project at. If everything is going to be 44.1, set the V-Amp to 44.1. The recorder has to be set to clock to incoming S/PDIF so it will SLAVE to the incoming data stream. Make sure you're using a 75 ohm coax with RCA connectors to connect the two devices. The type of cable used to hook up stereo gear won't work.
