hooking drum loops together

OK, when I try to put individual drum parts/loops together on the same track, it only lets me insert them at the beginning of a second (as in the unit of time, i.e. 1.000 or 2.000, etc). To link it with the previous drum event so that there is no space between, I have to note the exact end time of the first event, then select the new event and type in the start time as .001 after the first so that there is no gap, and then it moves it to the right location. I can't just drag it there with the mouse.

Is there an easier way to do this?

You can split at the end of a bar, based on the beat...so your first loops will be like, 4 bars and you insert the next one at the beginning of bar 5. I think the button is in the transport bar.

you just change the time measurement from milliseconds to measures/bars.

You can also change snapping on and off as well as setting snap to different increments.

You can also hit Control "K" and make as many copies as you need.

i agree, base your loops around bars rather than actual time, it's much easier to work with them this way. many loops will often automatically speed up or slow down to match the bpm you want too.

Tempo changes will only apply to acidized or rex wavs with a sequencer that supports them.
