How do I get it to not play. I hate it. It is throwing me off.

:D Sorry, I might use it one day, but I like to go off feel rather than perfection.
 
Right click on the toolbar area near the top of the display, a drop down list will appear with a metronome option, select it to make the metronome controls visible, there are buttons on to turn it on/off for recording and/or playback.

Thanks. I had been trying to find it in the HelpTopics section but totally forgot to look under metronome.

I still don't know where you mean to right click at. I tried a couple spots, but I found it under the View->Toolbars where you can check it.
