Hey, I just made a video with my violin Klezmer Duo "Chapeau Klez". It was the first time cutting material and synchronizing it to a track. It is really a no budget production and we made all by ourself. That means, we didn't have much material, because we only had one day to film. For the audio we had 15 minutes to record in a church. and always when we are making something the battery went low :)
anyway, here it is .
I am new to this forum so sorry, if I made some newby mistakes!
Ok, I cannot post url? Is there a possibility?

I mean, I don't want to harm anybody with this link ;)

No newbie mistakes made.

Thsi is a great video. Why do I like it?? You took nothing and made something artistic out of it. The use of shadows, reflections and various angles to keep the viewer engaged. No gimmicks or fancy effects, just a lot of clips that keep teh video moving along.

The instruments were captured nicely. Curious how they were mic'd as well as the room. Understand it was in a church, did you have a separate mic further away?? The reverb is lush, but maybe a bit too much for my taste.

Anyways, good job all around. Thanks for sharing. Hope others watch it....

Thank you very much. The Audio was recorded with an Zoom H2 and normalized and filtered a little with adobe audition. I am happy that the video turned out to be entertaining, because I thought that without the usage of effects it would be boring. But Its good to find out, that ideas, camera angles and light are much more important. I hope I will get time, location and energy for another video soon, where I know from beginning, what I need and what not. Thanks so far, I too hope, that some of this forum will watch it despite of my disability to post the link properly (I don't want to spam 10 posts just for that ;). I really apreciate all critizisms and help, because I am really new in dslr recording and video production/cutting.
greets from germany!

Ah and the mic was about 4 meters away, the church hall was quite big, we haven't had any choise, either the church or the room of my collegue (wich sounded like a metal box). I also like more a crisp sound, but too much natural reverb is still better than too much effect reverb ;) .. i guess

Yeah, that was nice.

I think the use of all that glass was brilliant...that and the shadows. I may steal some of that if I ever do another video!

You guys need to work on your dance moves though...you were a bit out of synch with each other ;)

:thumbs up:

Question to you: out of sync or making the steps to different rhythms in the music? ;) Its quite good synchronised, but many people don't get the rhythms in the beginning... and yes, it looks wierd :D If you figured out the rhythm.. try around 2:10. Its somehow mathcore influenced :) thx for watching and replying!

I guess I was referring to the two bits around :12 and :44. It may be that each of you are independantly grooving to your own math, but a casual viewing gives one the impression of two people trying to do the same thing at the same time and not quite doing it. Maybe if the steps differed more from one another it would be clearer?

I was really just teasing - I'm not a dancer and don't like math :p, so not a serious critique or anything.

There are some really nice shots in this clip. :)

thanks ;) yes the impression you got was somehow how we felt while dancing. In fact the whole video-material-audio is full of high octane laughing :) Thanks for the compliment on the shots, it was all spontaneous, luckily I had 2 creative heads with me!
