homemade mic wallmount

Yes, I bought the mic arm off e-bay for... oh, I forget. I think $40. There is another thread on this I couldn't find.

Anyway, I made the mount! Just need to drill eight holes so I can mount it in the corner of the vocal booth, and prime/paint it which I'll do tomorrow.

Looks pretty good there. Wouldn't it have been simpler to drill the mounting holes BEFORE welding it all together, though?

Anyway, I hope it does the job well for you.

Yes, drilling the holes first is easier.

However, if you're using a MIG welder to put it together, you end up with all these little flying balls of melted metal all over the place, which you have to either grind off, or whack off with a chisel hammer. If (well, when) they get into the holes you've drilled ahead of time, you have to redrill the holes. So, might as well drill after the fact.

I learned this the hard way :)
