Quick Question.. Ive Been Looking Into Getting My Own Home Studio Together.. Ive Blindly Bought a MXL V67G and a Behringer Xenyx 802.. I'm Looking To Connect The Mic To The Mixer and The Mixer To The Computer Via RCA.. Upon Research I Started Wondering If That Would Even Work.. Does The MXL V67G Need a Phantom Power Supply Or a Preamp To Function Properly?.. Or Does The Mixer Have What It Takes To Properly Power It.. an Am I Even Able To Connect The Mixer To The Computer via RCA or Do I Have To Buy a Adapter Or Am I Better Off Returning It and Buying an Alesis Multimix 4 USB??.. Any Info Would Help.. Thanks

Let's see ..... Yes the V67g needs phantom power. The Behringer will supply it but you can't connect that straight to your computer.
Take back the Behringer and get an A/D interface with built in preamps like the Tascam US-800 or similar.

And get a good DAW like Reaper ... download it for free HERE.

Then you'll be all set to ask a whole slew of new questions. ;)

I Have a Great DAW.. Im Running Cubase 5.. Been Using It For Over A Year Now.. I Already Have a Setup But I Was Looking To Upgrading The Mic.. Im Using a Samson C01U Usb Now.. But I Bought The MXl v67g Looking For Clearer Quality.. Connecting The Behringer Xenyx 802 to Pc Is The Difficult Part.. Wich I Might Return It If I Cant Get It To Work via RCA To LINE In Jack... But Thanks For The Advice.. I'm On a Low End Budget Too..

Yeah bring back the Behringer that isn't going to work that way. Trade it for an interface.

I'm only recording vocals mixing them into instrumentals.. The tascam us 800 looks very nice.. I seen one for 130$.. I payed 50$ for the behringer .. Do they have any similar to the tascam us 800 a little cheaper ?

The alesis USB multimix 4 is an audio interface with phantom power.. is that a good choice for my situation and the mxl v67g ?
