I'm trying to put together a list of things i must have for a home studio. I'm trying to find the best in my price range and buy one a few pieces of good gear, and not waste money on poor quality things.

I had a listen to the tracks at the listening sessions, and from what i heard i wasn't a huge fan of the SP line of products. I much prefered the AT 4050, and the RNP.

I have a fast computer with all the softwear and plugins i need. I have an ART studio Mp, and a Shure sm58. These are the things i want to add to get all the basics down for a quality signal path.

Maudio Delta 44
rotel ra-02 integrated amplifer
Yorkville YSMi monitors
FNR RNP
FNR RNC
Marshal MXL 603s pair
AT 4050 (or maybe another LD condensor?)
cables

I think that gets the basics down? I would have 2 channels of very good preamplification and compression. I would have a stereo pair of SD condensors for instruments, which could also be used well for female vocals i hear. I would have a good large diaphram condensor for vocals which could also be used for other instruments. I would have decent quality AD/DA converters with 4 inputs and outputs, and a good monitoring setup.

I was thinking of adding a few more channels of preamps in the future for some variety, and for more channels, such as the SP VTB-1, and the Maudio DMP3, and also more mic's such as maybe a SP B1, and some others.

Whah would you all say about this? I guess i need all of this gear to be very multi purpose and versatile. Considering at first i'd be using the same preamp and mics for most of the recording it would have to work on a variety of sources. What ya'll think?

Hmm i listened to the C1 vs the at4050 again on the listening sessions. Maybe the C1 does sound good? It sounds a little bit thin, and artificially airy. The 4050 sounds a bit more smooth and full. But maybe the smoothness and fullness is just a bit of exaduration in the midrange that i'd have to cut out anyways to fit it in a mix?

Hmm.
Other LD condensors i was looking at were the c1, at 4050, blue baby bottle, at 4040, shure ksm27, shure ksm32, or i guess any other one that is good.
