Hey... what do you guys this about this program? Is it worth spending more to get the XL compared to the reg. Will this work with recording bands like Guitar, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals? I just wanna setup a home studio?
 
Off course it will work if you have right setup! :)

Regarding the XL version, I don't know much in HS, but like always it's worth if you know how it's worth for you... :)

Any info about your setup?

yeh, a BR-864, MXL 990 Mic, and 2 CM-88 and some guitars... lol

So, how do I go about putting a Analog signal into the Computer?

You convert it to a digital signal.

This is normally a function of your sound card.

I'm new to home recording myself and opted for the HS XL version because I wanted the additional sound processing that comes with that package and thought the extra loops would be fun. Since then I've realized that I needed preamps to run the sound into the Line In on the sound card instead of the Mic port; decided to opt for a little mixer ($100). Also decided I needed a better microphone ($200). So all in all I've dropped about $500 on this little hobby. The difference between us is that your profile says you're 14 and I'm 44 with probably a little more disposable income. (At least unless you are a very lucky guy.)

What I'm saying is, make sure you understand what all equipment you need before you buy anything. Otherwise one thing leads to needing another and instead of making one informed decision you make several small increasingly costly ones.

By all means, start recording, it's great training and a lot of fun. You're smart to ask questions too. Do your homework (learn about recording on this site) and have fun.
