Has any of you Home Studio users upgraded from the 2002 XL release to the 2004 XL release?

What have they done to add "Easier soft synth implementation". Is that just related to the new ReWire support or is there more to it?
 
Yes - last year.

HS2004XL now has Sonar 2.x's "synth rack" feature. You don't have to create an audio track and assign the DXi as an FX anymore. Its a one click process now.
 
multiple simultaneous input record as well...I started out with HS2002...then upgraded...never regretted it for minute...then later I made the jump to SONAR 3.0 because I was looking for more synth, dxi and editing capability. If you think you might ever go there, skip the 2004...save some money and go SONAR.

All in all HS2004 was what I thought it was going to be.
