Hmm, interesting.
The reason I mention it is because I record in my shed. It is heavily carpeted with lots of none parallel angles heavy curtains (size 16Ft x 12 x 8). The best recording position (that I have found) is facing the doors, drawing the doubled heavy curtains but with the doors wide open. Since opening the doors improves the sound I wondered if I should go all the way and try outside? Any suggestions that are not rude? (I don’t include my neighbours in that request)

Would it be rude if I were to say "Why don't you try it and see what you think"?

:D

Not rude, just obvious. I'm scratching my head and thinking why stop to make that post? Why not just move the mic outside??? Eh, maybe the mic is really heavy. :D

Just slightly rude. (shame they don’t have an icon that just looks slightly sideways with half raised eyebrows). My problems isn’t that my mic is that heavy (although I could be severely dis abled...... but I’m not ( well not physically anyway). It’s more that I try to narrow the options I try by asking those who might know a bit more than me first (which is basically everyone). Also, I have tried many things which appear to work but when I have improved something else the initial upgrade is shown, sometimes to be a retrograde step. Hence asking for opinions first. Your response therefore was particularly innovative, daring and incredibly useful..........My profound thanks!
