Hi,
I need a step-by-step help to home-record a whole pop song.
This is my equipment:
-Soundcard: SBLive!
-Mic: Shure SM58
-Software: Sonar 2XL with LiveSynth Pro and a lot of great SoundFonts; SoundForge
-Plugins: Waves, Ultrafunk, Arboretum, Timeworks, TC, etc.
I would like to produce a song that sounds like any Max Martin production or Michael Jackson songs, so the effects and eq's that i wanna use, must sound like this.

I'm at this stage now:
[15 MIDI tracks (Soundfonts with LiveSynth Pro)]
-Drums (9 tracks): bass drum, snare, hihat, left tom, right tom, floor tom, crash cymbal, splash cymbal and reverse cymbal.
-Bass
-HandClaps
-Pad
-Piano
-Slow Strings
-Attack Strings

[7 Audio Tracks (All in Mono)]
-Acoustic Guitar
-Guitar Base
-Guitar Solo
-LeadVocal1
-LeadVocal2
-BackVocal1
-BackVocal2

All the volume and pan levels are in normal positions.
What's the next step ? Please, the "next".

(Obs.: Sorry for my english, i'm brazilian, but i hope you understand me.)

That tutorial (how to mix a pop song from scratch) doesn't have specifications like how the tracks must be (mono or stereo), the correct track levels (-12dB for the vocals, -4dB for the bassdrum, etc.), which reverb use (with reverb type, pre delay and decay times specifications) for each track, etc. I wanna a REALLY specific tutorial for my needs, and really specific info about how to get sounds like that productions that i mentioned. Do you know anyone to help me?

There is no such thing as specific track levels for different instruments.... it all depends on the tracks themselves and the context they're played in....

All you can do is read the material which amounts to guidelines, and get in there and try it for yourself, using your ears!

This is ART, not science....!

Amen!

You don't learn by having someone else spell everything out for you. Most people who are good at what they do learn by trial and error.

Thanks, maybe I should send my own thread instaid of buging someone el's

Step 1. get a good soundcard, then post again.

Not to be a dick but get a pro card.

Echo/Event is a good place to start.
