Hi,
I'm new to this forum and home music recording. I have a decent 10 yr old Yamaha keyboard that I tried to hook up to my Dell PC (running XP) a few years ago, along with some other h/w & s/w, but it never worked out. I got very frustrated and gave it up.
Now I'm ready to try again, but with a different approach: I'm looking for an all-in one package, i.e.: PC; s/w that simulates a keyboard (or can easily interface with a real keyboard); allows a microphone for singing; generates hardcopy output with notes & words; and allows PC-editing of music (plus multiple tracks).
I'm looking for something relatively inexpensive, for starters. Apple has one model PC that appears to come with a music (piano-like) keyboard. Any thoughts?
(I don't necessarily need to re-use my 10 yr old Yamaha keyboard in this mix. It seems that getting it to interface with a PC can be clumsy, and besides, it takes up a lot of room.)
Thanks to anyone who can help.
