There really is no simple way to describe how cringe-worthy this material is.

Why would "in control" be listed as the last post in this thread on the forum page, but not appear in the actual thread. Was he just banned? Maybe no way to know now because I'm currently listed as the last poster to the thread.

Now that I've heard the version with the 60's Guy this sounds more hi-fi. It's cleaner and clearer but I am torn between the two versions - damn they're both good. I like the hi-fi of this one but I also like the "wall of sound" Spector version of the other one!

I listened to the most recent version. Very good tone quality and balance in the recording IMO. Since this is a remix, you might not be looking for performance comments, but I'm going to give some anyway. 
The vocal has a relaxed rhythmic feel that suits the song. The guitar solos have a passionate quality but tend to lead the beat a bit... at first I was thinking it would sound better if the gtr wasn't pushing the beat, but actually it's effective re the song's subject, as it conveys a sense of unrest that contrasts the vocal style. Song-wise, the tune would be a little stronger IMO if it was a minute shorter.

the recording sounds good, good balanced mix.
Good playing, great vox, very relaxed and good on the ear.
maybe lover the keys a bit, or some more verb on them, they were abit to close upfront on a few occasions, specially before the last solo.
