Hold Your Own -First Mix

Hey - great song, really enjoyed it. Not sure I can offer much help with the mix, but I found that the lead guitar over the second verse and middle 8 (is that the correct term) kind of takes some clarity from the lead vox. Otherwise, sounded great to me.
 
Good song. Did you track the instruments? BTW - I get a feeling of Neil Diamond from your voice - don't take me wrong - it is cool as hell. I always did enjoy listening to Neil's voice. But the mix is good and the lead guitar licks really pick up the emotion along with or behind the vocal.

Overall it sounds great. The vocals sound like they are more compressed than the rest of the instruments and they're getting slightly lost or cloudy in the mix. Other than that I think it was pretty well mixed. Good rockin tune and yes you do sound like Neil Diamond.

I will perhaps play around with the lead vocal and guitar to make them stand apart from each other a bit more.
