Which one do you think would better suit my needs for midi recording. I heard the kurzweill sounds are what youd expect from kurzweil. I can grab a p70 from my local music store for around 550 and a pc88 for about 600 on ebay so idk I read about the pc88 in a magazine and liked it.

Anybody want to tell me more about it. They stoped making it I guess?

I'm not much of a keyboard player so when I asked here about pianos the P70 was one of the keyboards recommended. I've been happy with the Yamaha but more important real piano players find it rather nice to play. Not the best in the world but for the money good feel and nice sounds. Not many sounds mind you. Something like 10 or 12 on board sounds. No built in speakers. Four effects and three touch settings, easy transposing. Hope this helps.

The Yamaha is $599 new with stand. The Kurzweill is discontinued I assume. Myself, I would go with the new Yamaha and avoid the risk of getting a beat up keyboard. I doubt they are THAT much different. I was always a Kurzweill fan but they didnt have very good customer service, not that you would get it with a used board. Yamaha has (for me) pretty good customer service.

I dig new toys. Yamaha has never failed me in 20 years.

I'll throw a vote for the P70, My only complaint is that there is not 1/4" outs on it. Just 1/8" stereo outs, which I've managed to deal with. It's super light which is great for giggin'. I've noticed that it scuffs real easily too. It's a weird finish or paint they use on it. That doesn't bother me one bit though. The action is fantastic and the sounds are great. Mostly though, the action is fantastic!
