Let us be unburdened by that which has been ?
FOA, Sonic thanks again for the LXP-15 advice. Man, it is DEEP in tone, beautiful in sound. Been ab'ing against the Quadraverb. No comparison. Quad is not terrible imho, but nowhere near the Lexi in depth, and that is the best my ears can put it into words without the fancy, experienced-ear adjectives...
So what kind of reverbs do you guys use for different tracks/voices? I do basic rock, and like a small plate so far with the Lexi on drums (keep in mind, I am DM Pro and only have 8 raw tracks to work with on my 488, so a stereo out into tracks 1 and 2 and a little verb into the recorder, rest if needed across the board during mixdown). Anyway, have traditionally used a hall or large room for guitar solos across the board, small room(depending on the tune) for rhythm guitars. Medium Room on vocals (lightly) to track, then the rest across the board during mixdown.
How am I doing so far? Or is there something I could be doing better (yeah yeah, always) with the reverb as far as the different timbres?

hmmm, i tend to use that lxp for alot of stuff. yamaha spx stuff is cool and very user friendly. tc electronics makes a cool reverb that my club just got for the FOH and i like it but havnt used one in my studio. you can get either a master room or orban spring reverb for pretty cheap these day and they have a great sound for alot of stuff. alot of times ill use a tap delay to thickin stuff instead of reverb. 160ms brings out a weak snare nicely. theres alot of these around, i us a tc electronics. you could use a space echo to get a nice washy vox.

really theres a billion of these type things and all of them can find a home. i use my midi 2 alot still on things like snare or kick. for fun reverb you could try sending say a vox out to an amp, putting it in a longish hall or tiled bathroom and throwing an omni up. ive had good results by getting creative like that ( reamping and putting a 57 in a wrapping paper tube to mic the cab was a cool washy verb).
