Hmm a question for vocals

So i'm going to start recording hip-hop vocals. I'm using a basement home studio, but i do not sound proof anything. So i'm not sure how this would work but instead of wasting time to see if it will ill ask here. Can I just put blankets up in a closet and record in there? Would that be worth anything?

Thanks,

Ken

In most cases, you'd be better in an open room, possibly *surrounded by* heavy packing blankets, than in a closet or other small, enclosed space.

I record acoustic guitar into my closet (with the clothes there for absorption). I find that blankets don't do a lot except for the really high frequencies. Get a bunch of clothes packed in there.

Put the mic right infront of the clothes and record into it.

It works for me.
