In mixing hip hop. Which effect is better to use for the voice, Reverb or Delay?

Seriously, it depends on what you are going for. I generally use a litle bit of both, although I don't do much hip hop.

If you just want your stuff to sound the same as everybody else's, listen for yourself what they do and then copy it.

If you want to create an inspirational mix, try them out for yourself and pick what sounds the best to you.

You shouldnt be asking whether it's one *or* the other, but a little bit of both. No matter what music.

Dare I muddy the waters ad say slap back echo is also quite useful... Kind of a flavor of delay, but often found in reverb plugs.
