Thats all it is.It changes depending on area, financial status,and upbringing.The music reflects those differences.TV and radio stations are in business to sell advertising.They will show what their demographic likes so that they won't change the station.Thats why groups are packaged and songs sound similar.There is always an alternative to what mainstream is showing.Is there something wrong with wanting to be paid for your craft.I like some of the stuff out now but not all of it.You just have to be responsible enough to not let the negative stuff influence you.They said that rap wasn't real music.What's real music.What's real hip hop.Think about that.

Rap is not a revolution as some may say. Rap is a lyrical form of expression! It allows people to communicate in the same language, although they have different approaches in life. I can remember Rap, from it's mainstreams origin to the present form, always being a tool for expression. So it changes on a regular, but the purpose and concept should remain. We can call todays Rap garbage, but it is still expression. Real music, hiphop, and rap is what you make it. It's a different interpretation to some, but yet a common denomitor to many. Rap is Street! That is why I have a problem with aspiring rappers who have no pain in their game, you should feel you music. They never felt out of place, kept quiet, and misunderstood. They had a taste of the game and want another dose. Not only that, they want to be a part of the movement. I am an RnB artist with a BIG RESPECT for the rap game.
 
yup, i respect all tha types of rap, from dem franchise boyz to talib qweli, id never buy or download a dfb album, but im not gonna say its bad music cause some people enjoy it,


no other form of music is so critical on itself,

but i really feel that theres gonna be a shift in popular rap music in 2007, studies and reports on falling record sales indicate the people are getting tired of all this snap music n southern rap, n labels are gonna notice this n since what theyve been sellin aint sellin no more, there gonna look for somthin else thatll sell yadidimean...

it's time to bring the good ol days back when rappers rapped with meaning and told u deep shit over a bangin ass beat that could knock doors down
 
nas still does that, so does jigga, n thousands of "undeground" rappers...
