A fun one I think. Upright bass is tough for me. Been fighting it throughout this 17 song project.

Sounds quite good, I hear a weird sound on the bass when its pumpin the groove, string slap, clipping, something loose, IDK. Rest sounds really good, nice boogie woogie groove. EDIT: OK heard it at the end, what is that? A vocal, washboard? destracts from the bass.

Artist's version of a "barnyard stomp"?!?! Yeah, it's a vocal loop.

As a Hillbilly, I quite enjoyed this. Even danced a little jig in the snow with no shoes on. :p

I agree with PDP what ever that is that is panned with the bass needs to be panned different or something because it is making the bass sound wierd. Other than that I think it is really good.

Thought you could delete posts. Huh.

Yeah that trumpino dude has been following me around everywhere. That idiot! LOL. Great song dude.

Kentucky boy here. Sounds good to me. Even the wide panning seems to work. There is a noticeable amount of compression though. But so what?

I really like the singer and the very interesting lyric.

The bass sounds fine to me.

What is that sound at the end? Right at 4:05 it sounds like someone blowing through their lips. It's throughout the whole song. Is it a poor mans washboard?

I really like this laid back tune.

Thanks for posting.

Elton, for some upright bass, take a listen to Coyote by Mark Knopfler.

id totally agree with the low vibrating part of the bass being distracting and the guitar solo on the right is a fraction loud,...but apart from that this is excellent, really nice performances and mix, really like the singer

good job

I'll check it out. I have such a problem getting it under control. I used a combination of a U87 on the bridge, a c451 on the neck and direct though an avalon U5. Blended those to taste and then processed it though an aux track. So now I'm battling all my poor micing technique and bad room. Ha

What part of Kentucky?

Well your mic choice is sweet, so you're recording what the bassist is playing. Eq can only go so far.

I'm in Louisville.

thanks man, the collabs in here are good fun...generally my keys are an afterthought so nice to have a rockin tune where they are integral and on their own for so much of the tune
