I was trying to go for an old style rocker with this one.

Not sure about the mix yet though. I mixed it initially as an instrumental and then added vocals and I had some issues squeezing them.

Anyway, any thoughts on the mix or the tune would be great...

:)

Love it,

I think this is what we all need. Trashy drums and a brit on the mic, bizarre rhythms.

Very original.

Great job,

-jD

Good beat! Like african djembe beat taa ta taa ta... and swings nicely! Awesome sounds! Makes me want to go and do some heavy renovation work - take a chain saw and go through the wall. :D Cannot say much about the overall sound. I think it's loud enough. Great work! :D

Liked it!

I'd make the lyrics more intelligible, and shorten the tune a bit.

Interesting recording.

Thanks for sharing.

Cool Tune!

Seems a little cluttered during the vocals... Maybe side-chain the synth rhythm to duck down a bit when the singing comes in?

Good job with this!

:)

Wow. Pretty wild. Mix sounds good. I don't know how I feel about the song itself. It's got some cool shit going on, but the weird drum stops and odd timing kind of make it sound "off" sometimes. very interesting and unique though.

That is really freaking cool. Different and original, yet with an old British feel to it. Sounds like something Noel Redding would have written if he wasn't trying to be so "pop". I dig the lo-fi drums and that synth part really makes it quirky without being too techno. Good stuff, Bull.

I agree with BentRabbit on the vocals, and since you mentioned vocals in the op I'm sure you're working on it.... As always you do an excellent job with originality....it's never the same tune and always interesting musically.

Your usual freaky style, Bulls! :)
Love it, no-one beats you for originality. there's so much stuff going on, but it all fits together. On the whole I felt the mix lacks a bit in the mids. You've got good highs and a boomy kick, but the middle is somewhat low. But maybe that's what you intended. Still amazing though, you really know how to use those electronic sounds. Nice!

Joe :):):)

Me likey :D.

Either you are way ahead of your time or I am behind them...of course the two aren't mutually exclusive :p.

I love it in all its craziness...sounds like what I'd expect to hear as the soundtrack to a futuristic Aussie bar-fight. Nice.

I agree with a prior comment above about lower mid deficiencies, but am listening on pc speakers w/ sub, so it's all relative to everything else I hear. Always look forward to your postings!

Sigue Sigue Sputnik could've used you - they had style but no substance - you've both with originality too.
The vox do seem a little pressured but it suits the style I think.
Nice military specs bass there boy oh!
Cheers from across the ditch!

jamesduysen - Hey glad you like it, thanks James

pkdasilva - Haha hope the house remodeling works out for you :D Thanks for the comments

LorenzoG - Well I'm a bit of a mumbler so I can't do much about the vocals but you're right it was too long. I've since lopped a few bars out of the end and brought it back to an acceptable length. Thanks for the listen

BentRabbit - Yeah it is kind of busy. I wanted to squeeze stuff in there and make it busy but try to retain clarity at the same time. Still got some work to do there I think. Thanks man

Greg_L - You're right there are a lot of stop starts in it which breaks the flow a bit, hadn't really thought about that too much. Ah well, too late now! Cheers Greg

RAMI - Yeah well spotted, it was actually inspired by an old British band called Status Quo. Most of their tunes had a bit of swing to them. Thanks for the words Rami.

ido1957 - Thanks ido. yes I'll to go back and pay the vox some care and attention. Cheers man

joeym- Interesting you say that about the mids. I'm paranoid about mud buildup so I do tend to low cut everything in sight. Maybe I can add some back into the guitars. Thanks a lot man

heatmiser - Back in the 70s just about every pop song had a swing groove but you don't hear it very often these days. And no not insulted at all. I'm just impressed you know where NZ is! :D

rayc - I used to see those Sigue Sigue Sputnik albums in the record shops, but I never heard any of their songs. Thanks for the good comments cobber!
