I have a small mixing desk. Is there a way to hide all of the wires & cables that rest on the floor- some kind of box to put over them or something? Thanks.

I just roll them up and have them neatly piled.
Messiness is a sign of genies - if the mess bothers you your just average or below! :D

I did hide my wires and cables once ..... I'm still looking for them!

i use curly plasic cable covers the type made for tv's and make seperate looms for differant sections of the studio and keep them behind the homemade rack mount system out of sight and less likely to get walked on
wrap them round with tape
then if theres a cable failure its easier to diagnose the cable with a simple colour coding system
i also make a patchbay map on data spread sheet (microsoft excel ) for easy referance that's colour coded too
might sound a bit anal but with this many cables i've had to work through the night before just to sort out bad cables before a big job and these system make things easier

There is a kind of flooring covering that comes in squares that snap together, with stand-offs on the bottom side. You lay them down, snap them together, and they prevent you from walking on your cables. Probably a lot of work, and not cheap, but maybe cheaper than buying new cables every so often, and it would certainly look professional.

I'm a slob but a functioning slob. ;)

Maybe I should care.....but I don't. My shit is strung down the back of my desk and across the floor.

I still don't care......is that wrong?
:D

Go to an electrical wholesaler and ask to see some slotted plastic cable tray. If you get a profile that is wider than higher you can lay it on the floor put the cables in and click the cover on. If you need to have a cable come in or out along the length you can feed it out the slot.

Cheers
