First i wanna say hello to all of you, this is my first post in this forum so spare my life if anything goes wrong here.

I've had this behringer UB1622FX-PRO for 3-4 years and all of the sudden it started acting up lately so i need some help here.

The "built in effect" has a lot of static noise whenever i select a preset/effect when i turn the knob (never happened happened before) and the selected effect never works again. Anyone has anyidea why is it?

The EQ panel still works perfectly tho with my condenser microphone.

If my mixer is defective can i buy this to hook it up to my mixer and use an external multi effect processor instead of the built in one

If yes > and how do i hook this up to my behringer UB1622FX-PRO

Hi, and welcome to the board!

Yes, you can definitely hook up external fx. You can use an aux send/return to use it with ALL channels at once, using each channel's aux pot to turn the fx up and down (or off) for each channel. To do this, all you need is 2 standard 1/4" TS cables (3 if the fx unit has a stereo return and you want to utilize it).

Or you can use the channel inserts (only on channels 1-4), to use it only for that one channel. If you go this route, you need to have an insert cable.

so if i want to sing live karaoke with echo/effects its still good right. Like singing live on skype, yahoo, all those kinds of messengers thru stereo mix of my sound card

Sounds to me that the battery is or has gone.
If you open up the unit you will find that there is a small *Watch type* battery that you can easily replace and then the effects will come back to life.

I would never have thought of that but now that you have pointed it out, it makes perfect sense.
How else would the unit remember your settings? :drunk:

Yep. That's exactly what aux/returns and inserts are for. You can then run the mixer outputs into your PC line-in and your computer can do whatever it wants with the audio signal.

Any unit that retains a memory after shutting it off has a battery Dr. V.....Ive changed many a Yamaha SPX 90 battery. You only get 3 to 5 years out of one and sometimes you luck out and get 7 to 10 years ---with good behavior. :laughings:
