hi need help please total noob

hi newbie here,

im currently recording with cooledit pro 2, ive got a audigy 1 platinum ex.
For some reason when recording in cool edit, it is only recording through the left speaker, anyone know how to fix this problem? its really annoying lol! in cooledit it there are 2 bars for each track, for left/right recording, only the top bar in a track records when they both should...?

If your recording with a mono source like a guitar remember you can't record on a stereo track or you will only get sound out of 1 speaker. I use to have the exact same problem until I tried recording on a mono track.

Give it a shot.

You want to record mono tracks, then use panning when you mix your final stereo masterpiece to put things in different places in the stereo image.
