Where did you get your unit? Mine just arrived from a supplier who said theirs came from Yamaha UK just before Christmas and it was not the updated version. I'm sure it will be sorted out (I raised the issue before ordering) but it's kind of frustrating.

picked mine up from argos m8. got it when it was on sale. viewed the product first to check the serial number.

Hello everyone! I'm happy to say that I finally did the trick! As soon as possible I'll post the link to my site with diagrams, firmware etc. The PIC I used is the 16F88 at 16MHz. The program now is very priimitive since it change the byte "closed hh" with "open hh" when the pedal is unreleased. I'll post also a mp3 as a demo of the trick. bye bye - riccardo

Hello, I've just put on my site some tech data to help you in this matter.
Here you can find the diagram:

the .asm Microchip source code:
http://www.riocma.net/fileadmin/ele_varprj_dd65/dd65_hh.asm
and here the assembled file:

I know it's very poor stuff :(, but I have not enough time to do it better....

Please feel free to modify the project, sure you can do a lot of improvements.

Bye bye

Solution!!!!

Hey Guys!

at first, sorry for my bad english, i'm brazilian

Searching this problem over the internet, i found on TOP of searches this thread, i hope people out there can read this fix. =]

messing around with DD65, I FOUND THE SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM! :D :D :D

Just go on the function menu and turn ON the option "Ant" (when you play the pads with "Ant" ON, the dd65 sends a internal processed midi via GM)

Now u can press the hi hat pedal, strikes the pad and it will send the currect (and CORRECT) information from dd65.

AND REMEMBER, it will sends the MIDI of the sound played on DD65 via GM Mapping, you need to change kits or instruments to send what u like. (not the midi note anymore)

Hope it helps folks!

YOU ARE THE MAN!

tinha que ser BRAZUKA!

kkkkkkkk!

valeuu browww!!!

If you are using a Mac and need to remap note numbers (it does a lot more than that too), the freebie MidiPipe does an excellent job at that.

Anyone got this working?

I turned ant on but I still have the same problem. Anyone got this working?

obrigado

hello RodrigoKryb, I'm Brazilian and you also commented on the role ANT / ON that enables the standard GM, Toontrack SUPERIOR DRUMMER I use / EZdrummer and does not work at all, in superiodrummer has more advanced options to choose more joints, I tried more does not work, another doubt it would be possible to use third-party pads for bass drum and hithat?

I hope your help
thanks

Hi,

first of all sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I have to ask about this solution even though I've sold my DD65 a looong time ago (due to the bug):

Could it be you have the newer revision where the bug is fixed? I simply do not believe the programmers (hell, even the product managers!) at Yamaha wouldn't have been able to figure this "solution" out on their own, rather then revising the hardware as they did.

Any thoughts on this?

* regrets he sold his DD65 if this is a true and easy solution
