My mic goes to a
HHB Mic Pre/EQ then to a
Behringer Composer 2200 then to my board

I'm trying to figure out which would be the best to take the place of the BEHRINGER PIECE

HHB Radius 30 - $499.00 stereo
T.C. Electronic Triple C - $323.00 stereo

((I'm leaning toward the HHB, but also I have a FINALIZER 96K by T.C. in my set up, which I use during mixdown so the same make would be cool)) but that goes either way, which one ????????

These are COMPRESSORS and I know of the BELLARI's, DBX's MILLENIA's, SSL, MANLEY's but I'm not going there,

If you have a Finalizer, why would you need a Triple-C? Just use the compressor in your Finalizer for tracking!

(Given the thousands of recommendations on hundreds of threads, I suppose it goes without saying that if you are considering an additional unit, you should be looking at an FMR-RNC.)

try the triple C and see what you think. i personaly like the unit. i like the memory facility aswell, to store your compression settings and recall them back with a project.

Longwave,

Can you explain to me why he should buy a Triple-C when he already has a Finalizer 96k that is just sitting around doing nothing while he is tracking? I don't understand the logic in that at all!

the finalizer and the triple C are not the same compressors.

At a trade show right about when the Triple C first came out, the TC rep told me I probably could find much better uses for my money than buying the Triple C, as I already had a Finalizer. I assumed he knew what he was talking about, but perhaps he was just trying to get rid of me (unlikely as that sounds!).

Please elaborate on what you see as the crucial differences between the two 3 band compressors, and what the particular advantages of the Triple C are (over the Finalizer).

I hope you nituce this before buying the TC. I have multiple of the HHB radius 30 (actually in europe its the TLAudio 5021). This unit rocks, and my costumors agree. I have used numerous compressors and this one tops them all. You can't compare it with Neve or Amek, but that's a totally different price-range.

I would choose it over the TC anyday, and I am a great tc fanatic. I have their M-one and M3000 reverbs, but would never buy the triple c compared to the HHB.

I know a place (there's rehearselrooms, a small studio, 2 clubs for concerts, with links to the studio for live tracking) where they had about 4 triple-C's in their rack when I mixed a concert there. A month later I mixed another band in the same place, and they had NONE! They hated it... I don't remember why, but they really hated the thing. (They got a sponsoring deal with TC btw, which is why they got alot of their equipement. But the triple C isn't in with it...)

Just thought you might want to look for some more opinions on the triple-C... I really don't remember why they got rid of 'em...

Nope... :D In fact, I don't think I mixed with the triple-C's... Think that was just a concert I went to myself. Really don't remember.

You might know the centre... It's called Muzikodroom, in Hasselt. Pretty cool.

and the winner is....... HHB

I ended up getting the HHB as DOWNSIDE STUDIO stated.

and after some more searching, I realized the FINALIZER had a the same thing as the TRIPLE C if not better. But I guess what drove it home is the fact that my HHB CLASSIC 70 kicks major ass anyway, why fight the feeling.

Downside Studio: I almost bought the TRIPLE C -- it was in hand, the guy rung it up, he handed me the tag of sale, I went to the counter ((after sifting in my mind that most HHB products were hard to find)) I almost rung it up, but then I said "NO" and stuck to my guns, walked out the store, made a few calls, and found one in FLORIDA brand spanking new, should be receiving it by WEDNESDAY. ((It helps I have connection at Sam Ash))

I came across the TL Audio 5021, but that deep purple kept me mesmerized, so I'll stick it out till I get it, the better of the choice it was, it really was.

That whole colour thing still makes me confused. I know in europe the HHB series are very hard to get, and you just have to buy the TLAudio's. But that purple colour does look great doesn't it. but than again, if i had the purple ones I'd be saying the same about the creme TLAudio's.

I got it

IIIIIIIIIIII GOT MYYYYYYYYYY RAAADIUS 30

(meep, meep, poof.....)
