I am looking to buy a cable, for a Tascam DA88 8 track. multi capability need. A terminator plug (that can be used on a HOSA 348). happy to pay whatever!!

Have you tried using a DB15 cable / plug, standard of the shelf computer cable. I had to find a so called special cable to link 2 Tascam MX2424 machines and it turned out to be a standard DB9 cable.
