Just kidding! But seriously, I own a VS1680 and just recently came from the Tascam 38 world. I bought the 1680 because of the editing features that the tape format obviously dosen't have. I understand that going in spdif in these machines can yeild pro results. But then you are limited to tracking 1 stereo pair at a time. That sucks, so I have been talking to a person about Logic and a Mac G4 combo. He has done a lot of pro production in Germany and swears by it. What do you think about this setup with the Digi001 as converters in this setup Sonusman? You seem to be a real stickler, "golden ears' boy like me who needs it to sound its best. I can't afford a Studer 2 in. tape machine.
