I just purchased MAGIX music studio deluxe 7 on ebay mainly because you and a few others say good things about it. Picked it up for $15. Anyway, I am just curious as to what version of Magix you are using?
Thanks,
Trev`

version 8 . i'm thinking of upgrading.
version 7 is ok for learning the basics.
tips...
1. make sure when recording MONO you set up your tracks properties as mono tracks. NOT STEREO.
2. make sure in preferences you tick to playback tracks while recording a new one. otherwise you wont hear back the tracks.
3. read up on kbd shortcuts so the recording dialogue doesnt pop up each time.
4. really DELVE and read the help in detail. its VERY DEEP.
if you get stuck. just ask.
cant really loose for 15 bucks. but you might want to consider upgrading once you have the basics down. should keep you busy for quite a few months.
make sure you use a decent sound card. the sound quality purely depends on the sound card convertors.
also make your own CUSTOM TRACK TEMPLATE that you can bring in and save under a new name before starting a session. go through each track and decide whether mono or stereo and save the template.
also create a new folder under win for each new song and point the preferred template you saved at it. throgh a session do regular saves to the new song folder that you gave a unique name.
peace.
