Herm, that is really cool, man. Thank you for sharing.

RS-20 verb and M-1 in the rack? What else is in the rack besides the aforementioned suppositions and the DX4D What mixer is that? Is that a Model 5?

22-2 and 22-4...the way Tascam intended. Underrated decks in my estimation. Very cool. ;)

Very nice setup Herm, what is that over the DBX in the rack ?:)

A really lovely, analogue setup. Really neat and organized too. I totally dig it.:)

Dude!

Sweet!

In the rack, I see...
Power strip (?)
DX-4D
RS-20
Fostex 3180
M-1B
& som'thin' on top that may be dbx 150's ? Not sure.;)

Thanks guys
Reel got it all in the rack except (and I hate to admit to it) But the units in the top are Alesis 3630 compressors:o Some day maybe there will be some vintage dbx comprssors in there.
Oh and the mixer is the m30
And my cammera skills suck. I need to work on that.

And to Tx and Tim its nice to see you guys around again.

A 4 track studio at its best!

That's a sweet setup.

Nice set-up, Herm! You've got the same active monitors I do. How are you liking them (aside from the annoying bright blue LEDs on the front)?

It's the Blue Light Specials! Attention K-Mart shoppers!

;);)

Naw,... those are the Wharfedales, eh?

So,... I forgot to mention the M30 mixer (sweetbeats), 'cause I thought that was just a slam-dunk.

HINT: The Model 5 mixer has that "quaint" 5-VU-meter design, as well as the M35, which was cloned off it.;)

Nothing a little black electrical tape wouldn't fix!;)

Okay,... question:....

why the RS20 and 3180 in the same rack? Duelling reverbs?

Or,... got enough reverbs to run 'verb live to 4-channels independently?

Or,... the 3180 has a minimum of adjustable parameters, while the RS20 is just an in/out box with no knobs,...

(i.e., two different "flavors" of reverb)?

Inquiring minds want to know!;)

I had the rack space;)

Actually Dave I havnt had the tascam reverb that long and havnt been able to use it on anything yet. I hope to start soon.
But the fostex is kinda funny cause it will hum alittle when put close to other gear.
If I keep this setup the way it is I need to order a phantom power unit for my mixer since they didnt put that on any of the lower priced units. Or just start using dynamics only.
Someday maybe before we are gone we need to do a collab. Just to say we did.:D

Thanks I have always loved the 22-4 and bought a brand new one back when they first came out in the 80,s. This one is my 5th.

Yeah,... that!

I've been lucky enough thus far to have procured vintage condenser mics that run on internal battery power. Tascam ME-20, ME-50, ME-80, PE-120, PE-125, PE-150, Shure BG 5.0,... & they're swell!;)

Dave did any of the tascams mics run on AA bats or where they all those funny 9 volt units? Like the teacs

Good question!

The higher end Tascams (ME-80/120/125) were "spec'd" for that 9V "round" battery, which is more of a specialized or "Radio Shack" item,... plus is more expensive.

However, each of these mics came with 2 rubber boots to fit on the end of an "AA" sized battery, & adapt it to the slightly wider barrel. That is, unless the previous owner had lost them prior to my 2nd hand acquisition. For those, I've considered wrapping an "AA" battery in about 1/16th later of electrical tape on the ends, to adapt it as such. The boots are way more convenient, though!;)
