Here's what I wound up getting.

So I went for HangDawg's pre-owned Baby Bottle @ $350.; a new CAD e300 @ $299.; and a Pair of new Rode NT1a's for $180 ea.

I may consider selling my lovingly cared for, and much admired SP-B1's, but I may not.

Those CAD e300's are a sleeper. I had one when they first came out and it blew the Neumann I had at the time out of the water. I have a Rode NT1-A as well but it doesn't get a lot of play with the K2 and NT2-A to choose from as well. Good choices however.....I'm sure they will do a fine job for you.

There are some great reviews on this one, and it looks like I got the last one from B&H. At least it will bring some diversity to what I have (not much).

Are you talking about the original E300 or the Chinese newer E300? The original E300's are excellent LDC Mics. The newer E300's are kind of hit and miss.

Bad News

So my CAD e-300 arrived via UPS with the diaghragm rattling around inside the grille -- completely detached from the rest of the structure.

It looks like the damage happened BEFORE UPS got the mic because the boxes were all perfect...

What a bummer!

After working 2 nights for UPS, I'd even be worried about shipping cotton with them. But this time I don't think it was UPS's fault...
