Sing the national anthem! Sing it from the heart? Sing it like you're the singer at the begining of the 7th game in the world series? And post it here...

I'm working on it. My version will be epic... But something I realized as I was practicing it? Is that it is perhaps the best place to showcase your abilitiy? And the reason for that is because it is not an easy song to sing, and to sing well.

I look forward to hearing offerings from others.

It is in fact, a very easy song to screw up? And a very difficult song to bring your A game to. It is therefore, perhaps one of the best songs to practice and be able to perform well?

I submit to you, "The National Anthem Challange..."

Let the constants begin. And people? It's our anthem? Give it the respect it deserves... I'll start this weekend, my version will be ready in a few days.

I cannot bring myself to sing the words of our national anthem. I just can't.
I love the tune though, especially the bass part. It's fantastic.
I noticed during the olympics that whenever Britain would win gold and they'd play it, they played it differently to how it normally sounds. I hated it. It had all these little variations in it. I called it 'the minor key version'.

Is it the "God save the Queen" part? Where did that come from? How old is your anthem? What if there is a king and no queen!

Very curious to know about your anthem. I really enjoy hearing the melody. I don't really like the words though.

EDIT: LOL! Sorry that sounds asshole-ish.

It's just..... "God save the Queen"...... I don't know. It seems kind of dated. Maybe it's just a historical thing? Sort of like the way our government treats the Ten Commandments here... Although I am not a big fan of that treatment...
