we don't need rest!!
this is a quickie mixie...so I'm not too concerned with that aspect too much at this point....but of course...slam away!!

what I'm really more interested in, is the "music feedback". I did this as an extremely looooong intro for a potential song...and I'm more curious if the two chord loop gets toooo monooootonous or not. You can probably tell where vocals would come in....around the 2 min mark....just after the gtr lead (and then my music sample fades out...).

So....does it put you asleep...or is there enough *change* going on to keep things interesting....I can't tell...I played on it!!;)

it's at nowhere....just titled; intro idea

You Almost Lost Me

OK, I started listening and I coudn't tell where this was going. I like the sound, but it seemed to be just wandering. Then the lead guitar came in, and I got it! You might want to have the guitar enter a little earlier to avoid losing people (some of us have short attention spands).

Now, for the guitar part, I really like the tone you got. What are you using for that? Actually I liked the tone so much that I wanted you to slow let a few notes really HANG there. Come to a cadence point and just let one of the notes hang for a whole measure. I think that might sound cool.

Anyway, nice work.

Kinda 80's-ish backing tones. Not bad. It did get kind of long...

I liked "Drinkin again" better. :D

what I like about this mix, and I mean really like:

-It sounds so musical
-The space is wonderul
-the first minute of it is one of the best first minutes I've ever heard.
-The percussion is sweet

I dont really care for the melody of the lead.

Can you share what synths and reverbs you have on this.

Funk on!

mixmkr,
first, I'll say I really liked it,..... and you played the perfect lead for this.....good sound quality too....

Second, I'll try to give a detailed response like you do..... only it wont be as intelligent.....

here it goes.....you wanted "musical feedback,"

It starts off cool, but you said that you weren't going to start the vocals until the 2 minute mark.....maybe thats too long,
When it kicks into the beat at about 35 seconds, I would have more sound come in...... like a solo.... or start the vocals there, or maybe even more boards....just more sound... the guitar solo is the life of this... if you would have started that at 35 when the beat started, it would have had much more impact.....you know....you asked if there was enough change..I would say no, but it's still very cool and I would really like to hear what the rest of it sounds like. You cant really listen to what I say though, my tunes are completely confused.

I played it about 10 times before I started typing.

good tune.... more stuff

This is the longest opinion of a song I have ever offered here.:D

later:cool:

You gotta relax a bit.

Like Big Bill and the Cool Tones of mp3.com fame.

Your stuff sounded harsh and you gotta get it SMOOTH!

"Pool Fool" from Big Bill.

Plus if you're doing a serious drinking song, you can't have a vocal with a disapproving tone covering it.

A tip from Big Bill:

She was just a moonshiner's daughter but she always made me
LIQUOR!

thanks to all that listened...and the replies...and drstawl...you listened to the wrong song dude...but that's ok...

synth is xp80 with the 'world' and 'orchestral 1 and 2' expansion cards.
reverbs are Alesis wedges.

someone else asked, I believe. ...the gtr was direct, thru a proco rat, straight in to my layla sound card.
