Here's an instrumental thing I did about 3 years ago. It's one of my first attempts with my Roland V Studio.

It's never really been "mastered," and could use some overall compression and high end boost, but I think it turned out not too bad. The keyboard parts I did with RetroSynth, a software synthesizer.

Any opinions appreciated.

I've yet to get any replies to either of the songs I posted... are the links working? Are the songs that bad? :- )

Hey there - Yup, link's working.

I don't think it needs any high end at all. I am not too sure about the rhythm guitar sound. Seems a little harsh to me. I like the actual tune.

The low end seems very weak to me. Not enough bass guitar in the mix, and just the bottom in general seems a bit anemic.

Snare seems like it could be a little more present in the mix.

Overall I think it just needs a little tweaking on the mix, and maybe eq some individual tracks.

I'll have to remix that tune sometime, I've gotten a lot of new gear in the last 3 years. It was kind of a quickie I did to test RetroSynth. My Memphis song better represents the new equipment I've got now.
