GO PACKERS!
For those of you with Sonar 1 or better there is a feature called the "drum brush".I have not heard much talk on the boards about using this and I'm not sure if the lesser softwareS include this feature.
Now while I have tried the drum brush out ,I was'nt real impressed. But I did learn a method of taking all of these patterns and loading them into the session drummer.

First open Sonar
in the open dialog box hit the folder up icon till you hit the Sonar folder.

In this folder there should be some subfolders including
drum styles and
pattern brush patterns

Open the pattern brush patterns folder and open a file

Now go to the "save as" under the file menu and save as a drum style.

Repeat this until all the patterns have been saved as drum styles.

Now all of these patterns will show up in the session drummer style box and you're off!

While these are only partial patterns you can mix and match them in seperate tracks with seperate instances of the session drummer.

Please let me know if you try this and if it works for you.

GOOD LUCK!

Now remember too that ANY MIDI FILE can be saved in the same way.The secret is setting the markers and naming them properly as the marker names are the names that show up in the session drummer.
You must also have a marker at 0:00:00.
You should cut away repetitive or redundant clips to keep from cluttering the session drummer.

I have downloaded midi files and imported them and I have also loaded all the patterns from a DR660 into the session drummer.

There are loads of midi files available free if you do a search on the net.
