Here's a nice bias chart for RMGI EMTEC tapes

I like that it's all laid out for you, based on the type of recorder, its record gap and bias recommendations for several popular RMGI tapes / speeds.

(Yes, our beloved TASCAM is also mentioned! )

I guess you can use those for Quantegy equivalents as well. The SM911 = Q 456 and SM900 = Q 499. Not mentioned is the LPR35 (1mil vers of 911) so the bias should be the same, as is for 1mil Q product like the 457 and 407.

I've heard there's a good review of the SM468 in the February issue of Recording.

Yup, the chart seems new to me too. Don't think they had it up before. Indeed RMGI seems to be NOT following in the footsteps of the Q company! Good for them .... and .... of course .... for US!!
