Sounds pretty good...mixed well with the exception of the lead solo...what the heck happened there? Cant here it. And the first verse had somekinda flanging, wah, ghost sounding guitar. Other than that. Nice song...kinda catchy

Hey Lee

Gave it a listen.

Sounds like a well-mixed tune, other than what was mentioned about bringing the lead up, which I agree.

The vocals sounded a bit thin, I would re eq them for more beef.

The tune itself is well-wrtten, nice flow.

And kudos for writing a somg about your Grandmother.
More people should do that.

I never did.

Not bad

Nice song, in a style that I like.

Ditto on the lead guitar - bring the level up somehow.

I suspect you used quite a bit of delay on the vocals. I kept thinking I heard the different parts come in slightly out of sync, but I'd relisten and they were ok. I'd recommend backing off the delay by 10msec or so.

EQing the lead vocals by boosting at around 6K-8K might help them stand out. Another thing you might want to try is to record another lead vocal track to fatten them up. Also at times some words at the beginning of phrases tended to get lost. Make sure to hit those a little harder during recording.

There was something goofy like a flanger on a guitar in the first verse.

Nice, simple instrumentation. The song had a terrific melody and harmony - I liked that a bunch. I'm not a fan of the 'ooos' and 'ahhs'.

Thanks

Well thanks for the comments guys.

I actually recorded these songs over 10 years ago,on a Fostex R8 reel to reel.
Then I decided to put them into my computer and do a quick remix.
(Now that I have a better setup Computer daw.)
I was wondering if I should re- record them.
Well I think I got my answer, lots of positive feedback.

Thanks again for the replys, I am really pleased.

my thoughts,

ok, I have thoughts about this. this recording is a favorite of yours. you hit it on the original recording. and you can do a lot of stuff with a recording after you got gear update. but you will never be able to duplicate the timing, the tightness, the fun, the absolute pureness of the original moment. that's my thoughts on this whole homerecording stuff. as long as the record button is on, anything can happen. I have stuff from years ago that may be the worst mixes I've had but the song, the moment, the deal can not be repeted.
