Listen to my damn song or I burn them all. You don't want that on your conscience now, do you?

---((((O))))---

Is that extortion/pupnapping/coersion or something similar?
Nah, just animal trickery. At least they aren't tortured by dressing them up like cats or something cruel.
I like the gnarled guitar way off in the mists of the R(?) side during the fade in & intro.
I like all of the instrumentation.
The vocals fade a little into unintelligible land a few times - mainly at the end of longer lines - technique or desire?
Your voice reminds me a little of Robert Wyatt.
Bass solo followed by stomping return - cool stuff.
Turbo drive across the sound stage.
I was only sleeping chants section - I think I'd have liked the lead a little gnarlier - not unlike at 5.49ish.
Very Howkwing like bleeps towards the end.
Nice journey. Ta!

Nice mix over all, The fade in is very cool and the guitar tones are great. My only issue is with the Kick drum in the mellower parts its really barred in the mix and in the heavier parts it has a bit of a dull thud sound to me maybe that is what you where going for. But over all I think its a really good mix.

Kill the puppies, I don't care.

Um, it's really long. One thing I've never understood about this style of music is why do the songs have to be 6, 7, 8 minutes long, or more? Most of the length is repetitive riffs and/or long passages of really not much going on, so what gives? I'm not bashing your song, I'm just questioning the entire genre. I just don't get it.

Having said that, your 8 minute song is surprisingly easy to listen to. I found myself wandering off once or twice, but for the most part it kept me engaged. I think the mix is generally fine. It's kind of raw and old school sounding. There's quite a few timing flubs and the vocals are kind of blah, but overall it's pretty decent. Good guitar tones scattered throughout.

" It's kind of raw and old school sounding"...... i totally agree............nice song/story/landscapesounding.....

length, repetition and drone effects - simulated trance I suppose.

RW's a big favorite of mine....Rock Bottom might be in my big top 10....and I always loved his voice- so that's a comparison I like though I'm not trying to sound like him or anything. Thanks for commenting ray!

Yeah I pretty much agree the kick gets swallowed here and there in the middle... I might revisit it. Thanks for listening!

Yeah, the tl;dr of it is songs are songs are long for different reasons. And you're right...many long songs could be shorter. In my case it's because I like repetition....I love when something repeats and changes slowly while it's repeating... you can listen to a piece of the song, then listen to it a few minutes later and it's completely different, but you can't pinpoint exactly where it changes. That's kinda what I go for, rather than standard verse/chorus/verse, and it can take time to pull that off. I like things that change slowly and go from one place to another, but all my grooves are fairly simple...in twos and fours and stuff. Won't hear too many 13/16 Amin9 Phygrian mode jams out of me or anything.

Cool, thanks for listening Gergs!

Cool, thanks for listening man!

I love it, very cool psychadelic vibe......love your bass guitar tone! Like the dynamic shift with the middle part.....almost like a Jimmy page era yardbirds rave up! Nice Flange! I think my only nit would be the drums, they seem just a little dry, my taste tend to run a little "wet" tho......
Fantastic song with lots of twist and turns....I love it!!

Hey Queeps.... yeah I kinda copped that Last Time/Over Under Sideways Down riff for a couple secs there. Was too damn lazy to write my own riff!
Thanks for checking it out tho.

Sounds pretty damn great to me fleet. Lots of good texture as usual and plenty to keep the interest throughout.

The vocals get lost here and there - I don't know if it's with all the different elements of the mix changing the overall volume - maybe a bit of automation could sort it. The bassline sounds good, but a bit loud and boomy on my system. Given recent events with me nd your bass though, it may be my listening environment or speakers - so take with a pinch of salt if nobody else hears it! Good work though :)

Hey - I was able to catch most of this a few times last night before being interrupted (I couldn't finish anything with the damn family there - "feed me!", "spend time with me!", blah, blah blah, etc.

I have yet to make it through the entire thing yet, but hope to soon.

What I heard sounded awesome. You've got this sound now that is your own while also harkening back to at least a few different influences.

If anything, I thought maybe the kick and bass had a little too much woof sound to them...maybe tighten that up a bit?...just a bit. I like that I can clearly hear both elements throughout, but the kick in particular stood out just a little too much maybe? Also, I'd raise the vocal level a little myself. Sounds great though.

I'm getting to hear the whole thing through today ("working" ;) from home)...

I'm cranking it this time and still sounds pretty awesome. I didn't even get to a lot of the jams towards the end the other night. Today, at a higher volume, the kick sounds better to me...not sure why. Love the bass and the bass tone, but that still seems maybe a bit loud by comparison at times.

As noted already, the guitar tones are way cool on this.

Did you add any delay and/or verb to the vocals on this? In addition to feeling like they should come up, maybe they're a bit dry compared to the guitars and stuff? I guess I'd be inclined to drench them in verb for an epic thing like this. Who knows...it was a really fun listen. I even heard Dead/Allman Bros. shit happening at times when you started to go off on the bass. Cool.

Hey thanks again Pete. You're one of the few here that acknowledge my tunes and, so long as it's just you and me and the non-voyeuristic bots here, let me say I really appreciate it. This stuff can sometimes feels like a labor of love for a music that's close to extinction, so it's definitely nice when someone checks it out and seems to dig it. Hope to hear something from you as well- I read you fixed your amp!

You're definitely right about the kick being a little weird and the vocal too low... Maybe I'll experiment with a verb on the vocals, though I'm not really that great at dialing in verb effects yet. Next mix....
