I'm currently trying to restore some old songs from cassette to cd. Most of the songs are pretty clean and didn't take much to get them sounding good. There are, however a few that I can't seem to make sound good. Here is a clip of some drums that I need to fix. Any help with what I need to do would be great...thanks

BW, man, that was an old post. I downloaded the mp3 back in May and forgot to post a reply... and now I've gotta run... be back later to reply.

I donno...the highhat (I think) is pretty much all over the place.....maybe put some lo eq (would be nice if it was stereo, just bring up the bottom on the kick and pan the snare a little too)????...I can't believe I missed this post...gettin' old....gibs

I mucked about with it in soundforge for a bit. As Gibs says, the high-hats are so dominating. Makes it hard to do much with the rest of the kit. May have to compromise somewhere.

i uploaded a sample at

Don't know that it sounds any better, different though.

I guess this particular song is just gonna have to sound bad..heh. It was recorded with a cheap boombox. Luckily this was the worst sounding song.

thanks for all replies....
