Please, somebody help me with this. I have the following equipment that I have bought through various years: an Akai MPC 2000, a Proteus 2000 module, an Alesis QS 6 keyboard, a MOTU Micro Express patchbay, a dual 266 megahertz IBM runnig Cubase, and a Roland VS880 hard disk recorder.

I am using this stuff to do hip hop and R & B, but I want all the pieces to work together. I want to use Cubase to sequence all the tracks of MIDI, including the drums and the samples, which I want to do on the MPC, but I want to do all the melodic stuff on the QS6 and the Proteus. Right now, I am using the MPC to do tracks, but not really the rest of the equipment.

If ANYBODY knows how I would wire all this together and then set up all the MIDI IN/OUT?THRU so that I can use the computer to sequence all the MIDI and use the VS880 to record all the audio, I would be ENTERNALLY grateful and would give you a shout out on any projects that I release. Feel free to post a response or e-mail me direct. Thanks in advance.

Not sure what the problem is. You should be able to controll all of your gear with Cubase just by daisy chaining them. You should be able to use your proteus as a midi input device. So, you should be able to controll all of your other gear with your proteus through Cubase. Do you need a signal flow diagram? I'm not exactly sure what you're question is.

Yeah, I guess I need a signal flow diagram, i.e. how to hook up the cables what the settings are for the way that you are describing. I know that the question is kind of specific, but I am at my wits end. My level of production would be much better with using the computer to sequence my melodic stuff and the MPC to do the drums and samples.

Any assistance would be greatly appreicated and I appreciate your help thus far.
