i am tryinh to record guitar through a behringer ada8000 via optical cable to my soundcard(soundblaster x-fi extreme audio PCle) using cubase sx3.
not getting any signal in cubase, ive tried setting up all the busses and all that stuff but still nothing.
any ideas?

There's a couple of ideas that come to mind. The first is to make sure te steinberg key is plugged into a USB port.
 
lol sorry dude, i dont have a usb thing but in bottom right corner is a blue usb looking thing, when i click it it says kill or disable, got it when i installed cubase.
cubase seems to run and do everything normally except pick up a signal from my guitar
 
Oh man, you need that little usb thing. I don't know what the h2o is... that might be stopping you too. You should be getting a signal. It's pretty straight forward.

And yeah, you've got the ADA8000, so you're good to go.
 
Ahhh, google is my friend... yeah the tru h20 thing... is that what you got?
