You will need the adapter cable as already mentioned. You will also need some recording software on your pc, the stock sound recorder may work but you will get better results by downloading a multi track recorder. Audacity is free and pretty good for what you have described wanting to do. Also audacity is easy to learn and use. Another free bit of recording software (you might like it better) is Kristal. Both of these programs are free and will make recording to pc much easier. There are trial or demo versions of lots of other recording programs (you may want to try a few if you are considering buying) which can be downloaded if you want to. Transfering recordings from a tape deck to pc is pretty easy. Be sure to connect to the line in on your pc, the mic input will not be as clear. When recording to pc, watch the level meters, you do not want to red line anything. Once you get the sound (wav file) on pc you can transfer the file to jukebox or media player and burn it to cd. It's not hard to do, after a couple of tries you should have the hang of it.
