When I record a session with i.e. both shouting and normal singing...it doesn't sound so good... The volume is going up and down.... Is there any way to make the volume on the vocals be the same during the whole session? How do I do that?

I would be extreamly happy if someone could help me........ ;)

Apologize if the english sux... :p

1. Microphone technique (work it closer in the softer passages, and move back for the shouting)

2. "Ride the gain"

3. Use a compressor

thanx!

Thanx... :) think i'll go for the compressor....

Ehh...anyone know of any good compressor vst plugins?

Good call on the compressor but I'd still try and get the singer to think about their mic technique. A compressor will help but it won't totally disguise poor mic technique.

I use Blockfish by digitalfishphones. Not bad at all for a freebie.
